FBI: Box cutters found aboard Delta plane
I hope they find out how they got there. Thankfully nothing bad happened.
PORTLAND, Ore. — Authorities say a Delta Air Lines flight from Tokyo to Oregon was searched upon landing after its crew found box cutter blades aboard.
Portland’s KGW-TV reported the crew of Delta Flight 90 requested that authorities meet the aircraft upon arrival at Portland International Airport after the blades were found in the plane’s cabin while the aircraft was en route to Oregon.
The flight arrived at about 8 a.m. PDT on Tuesday with 155 passengers and 10 crew members on board, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The flight crew “opted to contact authorities and request they meet the aircraft upon arrival as a result of some box cutter blades found onboard while the aircraft was enroute,” according to Delta spokeswoman Susan Elliott.
The FBI, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Transportation Security Administration, the Port of Portland and Delta Airlines are investigating. FBI spokeswoman Beth Anne Steele said all passengers and crew members were interviewed while authorities searched baggage and the plane.
It was not immediately how the blades got on board.
